Annual Election Of McKownville Fire District

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the McKownville Fire District will be held at the McKownville Fire House, 1250 Western Avenue, (County of Albany), New York on the 12th day of December, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m for the purpose of electing one Fire Commissioner for a term of five (5) years ending December 31, 2022.  Candidates for District Office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Fire District no later than November 22, 2017.

All residents of the McKownville Fire District who are duly registered to vote with the Albany County Board of Elections on or before November 20, 2017 shall be entitled to vote at this election.

Budget Hearing

The McKownville Fire District will hold its annual Budget Hearing Tuesday, October 17th at 7:00 PM in the firehouse at 1250 Western Avenue.

It’s summer and grilling season is in high gear. Did you know that grills cause 8,900 fires per year? According to the National Fire Protection Association, the 3 leading causes of grill fires are:

  • Failure to clean
  • Proximity to structure
  • Leaving the grill unattended

District Election

The District Election will occur on Tuesday, December 13th, from 6-9 pm.

The purpose of this annual election is to elect one of five members of the board of fire commisioners to a 5 year term. All fire district residents are eligible to vote.
