Elections for the McKownville Fire District will take place on Tuesday, December 11th from 6-9pm.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the McKownville Fire District will be held at the McKownville Fire House, 1250 Western Avenue, (County of Albany), New York on the 12th day of December, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m for the purpose of electing one Fire Commissioner for a term of five (5) years ending December 31, 2022. Candidates for District Office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Fire District no later than November 22, 2017.
All residents of the McKownville Fire District who are duly registered to vote with the Albany County Board of Elections on or before November 20, 2017 shall be entitled to vote at this election.

The McKownville Fire District will hold its annual Budget Hearing Tuesday, October 17th at 7:00 PM in the firehouse at 1250 Western Avenue.
It’s summer and grilling season is in high gear. Did you know that grills cause 8,900 fires per year? According to the National Fire Protection Association, the 3 leading causes of grill fires are:
- Failure to clean
- Proximity to structure
- Leaving the grill unattended
Here are some tips to keep you, your family, and your property safe:
Be on the lookout for Santa as he visits the streets of the McKownville Fire District escorted by the fire department. Santa is expected to arrive between 11am and 2 pm on Sunday, December 11th. Keep an eye and an ear out!
The District Election will occur on Tuesday, December 13th, from 6-9 pm.
The purpose of this annual election is to elect one of five members of the board of fire commisioners to a 5 year term. All fire district residents are eligible to vote.
Join the McKownville Fire Department and Mischief the Clown for our annual Halloween Party! Festivities run from 6-8 pm on Monday the 31st at our station (1250 Western Ave).
Thanks to all who participated and voted in our referendum vote. We are very thankful for the positive vote allowing us to remodel and upgrade our fire station. These upgrades will help us meet the current and future needs of our district and its residents.
The referendum vote for the proposed fire station remodeling will occur Tuesday October 18th from 6-9pm.
